Food Truck Fire Extinguished By Bridgeport Firefighters

The fire was reported Sunday afternoon near Redd Street and Stratford Avenue in Bridgeport.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A food truck fire was extinguished by Bridgeport firefighters Sunday afternoon, but not before the blaze damaged a home near the intersection of Redd Street and Stratford Avenue, according to fire officials.

The blaze was reported at about 4:40 p.m., when a caller said that there was a fire behind a home on Redd Street.

"On-scene Fire Incident Command reported a food truck fire that extended to the private dwelling," officials said. "Fire was quickly extinguished."

No injuries were reported, but the damage to the home resulted in the temporary displacement of four adults and two children. The Red Cross is assisting the residents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
