Former Bridgeport Resident Killed After Being Struck By Car: PD

BREAKING: New Haven Police are investigating the accident and are seeking witnesses.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A New Haven resident has died after being struck by a car Saturday, police announced Wednesday. On Tuesday, Rafael Torres, Jr., 49, was pronounced deceased at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Several days prior, on the evening of Saturday, Jan. 5 Torres had been struck by a motor vehicle as he attempted to cross Foxon Boulevard, police said.

Torres, previously of Bridgeport, had relocated to New Haven and was in the Foxon Boulevard area visiting a friend at the time of the accident, police said.

The fatal crash is being investigated by the NHPD Accident Reconstruction Unit. Witnesses to the incident are asked to call the New Haven Police Department at 203-946-6316.
