Heroin And Guns Found In Home, 3 Charged: Cops
One of the guns was easily discoverable by several children living at the residence, police stated.
STRATFORD, CT — Police took three men into custody and discovered heroin, cocaine and firearms while searching a Stratford home, according to state police. The arrests followed an investigation into David Moreland Jr., who officials believed had been selling heroin and fentanyl out of his home in the 200 block of Boston Avenue, state police posted on Facebook. Officials with a state narcotics task force, a Bridgeport area gangs task force and Bridgeport police executed a warrant Thursday on the residence.
As Moreland exited the home, police took him into custody and found he was carrying five bags of suspected heroin, police stated. Inside the apartment, law enforcement found 7.5 grams of crack cocaine, 2.8 grams of heroin, 11.5 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, packing material and cash, as well as a loaded .45-caliber Glock semi-automatic pistol, a loaded .40-caliber Smith & Wesson semi-automatic pistol and ammunition, according to police.

Tyrante Young was in the home at the time of the search and was arrested, police stated. Terrence Williams arrived at the apartment while police were there, told law enforcement the Smith & Wesson was his and was taken into custody, according to police. The gun was easily discoverable by several children living at the residence, police stated.
Moreland, 24, was charged with narcotics possession with intent to sell and operating a drug factory. Williams, 35, was charged with a pistol permit violation, failure to properly store a firearm and four counts of risk of injury to minors. Bond for both was set at $25,000, police stated. Young, 22, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of ammunition and possession of a high-capacity magazine. His bond was set at $500,000, according to police, who stated both Moreland and Young are convicted felons.
