Illegal Machine Gun Guilty Pleas Made

One man manufactured illegal machine guns and another agreed to sell them.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Two men have pleaded guilty in a plot to illegally build machine guns and sell them.

Sean Dey, 39, of Torrington made and manufactured machine guns including AK-47 and AR-style machine guns, suppressors and other firearms, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut. George Jaiman, 69, of Bridgeport agreed to sell the items to third parties. Neither had a valid gun dealer license.

Dey sold an AR-style machine gun in April 2018 to another person for cash.

Jaiman possessed and AR-style machine gun with a suppressor during March. Neither gun had a serial number.

Dey pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to engage unlawfully in the business of selling firearms and faces up to 10 years in prison. Jaiman pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of a machine gun and also faces up to 10 years in prison.

The two are scheduled to be sentenced in January 2019.
