Another person made famous thanks to P.T.BARNUM was JENNY LIND.BARNUM had convinced her to come to AMERICA from EUROPE.She made up her contract needs and BARNUM approved it although she cost him nearly $200,000.to appear on his venues and tour the U.S.A.for him.HE took a chance on her singing for he had never seen her perform.When she arrived 30,000 people gathered on CANAL ST.IN NEW YORK to see the so called opera star that BARNUM had brought here.HER tour was a money maker both for her and BARNUM.HER 9 month tour in todays-'dollars would be equivalent to 21 million dollars.Plus multiple items bearing her likeness such as lamps,dolls,hats ,sheet music etc.She made real good money with these extras.ALSO even today there still is a baby crib named after her.After 93 appearances she quit touring and quit being a star for BARNUM being tired of running all over.P.T.BARNUM had made her a star as promised.Barnum always was a promoter and knew very well how to make money.
