Man Accused Of Killing Girlfriend’s 8-Week-Old Kitten: Police

The man is accused of assaulting his girlfriend and then strangling the kitten to death, according to Bridgeport Police.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A North Haven man is accused of strangling his girlfriend’s 8-week-old kitten to death last month in Bridgeport, according to the New Haven Register.

The Register reports Charles Brookins, 35, was on probation at the time of the incident and has three prior cases of domestic violence against three different victims.

Brookins is also accused of assaulting his girlfriend when an argument escalated into a physical altercation after she complained about him coming home late and too intoxicated, the Darien Daily Voice previously reported. Brookins is then accused of picking up the kitten and strangling it by the neck and killing it before leaving the apartment, according to the Daily Voice.
