Man Shot, Critically Wounded In Bridgeport: Police
The shooting occurred Monday night at the PT Barnum Housing complex.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 25-year-old Bridgeport man was listed in critical condition at an area hospital Tuesday after he was shot Monday night at the the PT Barnum Housing complex on Anthony Street in Bridgeport, according to police.
The shooting occurred at about 11:20 p.m., and Bridgeport police were alerted to it through a ShotSpotter activation at the complex. ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system that police use to discover an area where guns are fired.
"Upon arriving in the area, Officers located a large crime scene and a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head near Building 20," said Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran in a statement. "The victim, a 25-year-old Bridgeport man, was transported to an area hospital via AMR ambulance and is listed in critical condition."
The shooting is being investigated by the Bridgeport Police Detective Bureau and the department's Forensic Identification Unit.

Gilleran said detectives have begun conducting interviews in connection with the case, and the department is asking for the public's in help in solving the crime.
