Man Shot In Leg; Bridgeport Police Search For Assailant

The shooting reportedly occurred Thursday night on Maple Street, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 47-year-old Stamford man suffered a gunshot wound to the thigh Thursday night when he was shot on Maple Street in Bridgeport, according to police. The wound is not considered to be a threat to the victim's life, and he is being treated at an area hospital.

Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran said that after the shooting, the victim made his way to the second floor hallway of a residential building in the 600 block of Arctic Street, where he asked for help and someone called authorities.

The department's Detective Bureau is investigating. Where on Maple Street the victim was shot, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting, were not disclosed.
