Man Suffers Leg Injury In Bridgeport Shooting: Police

The shooting occurred just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, authorities said.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A shooting Wednesday night in Bridgeport left a 20-year-old West Haven man with a leg injury that is not considered to be a threat to his life, according to police.

The shooting occurred just before 8 p.m. in the 700 block of Frenchtown Road. Bridgeport police said several gunshots were heard in the area at the time.

"A short time later, the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received information that a male party presented himself at an area hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg," said Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran in a statement.

Additional details were not available, but detectives have processed a crime scene on Frenchtown Road, and they are "working several leads."
