Man Wanted in Bridgeport Found and Charged in Bridgeport: Police

Milford police say the accused first provided them with a false identity.

MILFORD, CT — When Milford police stopped a local man for multiple motor vehicle violations it led to the discovery that he had multiple pending warrants for his arrests including in Fairfield and Bridgeport, police said.

On Nov. 21, officers stopped a vehicle for multiple motor vehicle violations in the parking lot of 10 Rowe Avenue, police said.

Investigation led to the arrest of Andrew Russell, 31, of Rowe Avenue, who is accused of driving the unregistered, uninsured motor vehicle without a license and with having a plate that does not belong on the vehicle, police said.

Russell provided officers a false identity when questioned about who he was, police said. Further investigation showed Russell to have two active warrants for his arrest for failing to appear in court, police said.

Russell is accused of failing to appear in court on Nov. 4 stemming from a criminal mischief arrest in Fairfield on Aug. 30, 2014, and again on Nov. 4 stemming from a trespassing arrest in Bridgeport in September 2016, police said.

He is charged with several motor vehicle offenses, interfering with an arrest, forgery, and two counts of second-degree failure to appear. He was ordered held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
