Nanny Goat Park

Those Were The Days

HI THERE Fellow Hollow Residents and Others.Looking back at this photo of NANNY GOAT PARK certainly turns back the clock for me to a simpler time in our city of Bridgeport.I played at this park in the late nineteen fourties .MY friends and I grew up here on Lexington ave. and GRAND ST.and George ST. and other streets that crossed closely to the park.IT was great fun double riding on the swings and see saw unit and drinking from a squeeze handle water fountain.Wow those were fun times when kids could get together after school.I sure remember the C. R.L.BUS stopping near the park entrance.Boy life was so great back in the day.The other generations have no idea of real fun is like we did growing up in the 40's in Bridgeports' Hollow section.WE were proud of our area, proud of our town.WE had a different community lifestyle back then.OH what memories persist on my mind of Nanny Goat Park which is still there today.I wish I could turn back time and go back to the days of fun in our HOLLOW which will always be treasured in my memories of a city which has changed so much over the years.
