BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Housatonic Community College assistant professor was fired after he gave a Nazi salute and yelled "seig heil" at Connecticut State Colleges and University meeting on Nov. 2.
An internal investigation found that Charles Meyrick became upset at a Nov. 2 meeting at Manchester Community College. He continued the salute for 10 minutes. He asked police what would happen if he didn't leave and they informed him he would be arrested, according to the report.
Some witnesses reported that Meyrick was becoming increasingly irate at the consolidation meetings and several people reported fearing for their safety, according to the internal report. Some contemplated not attending future meetings if Meyrick were allowed to attend.
