Police Search For Suspect Who Shot At Person In Vehicle In Bridgeport

No injuries were reported in the Monday night shooting.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A suspect fired several bullets at a person in a vehicle in Bridgeport's East Side Monday night, and police are asking for the public's help in finding the perpetrator.

The shooting occurred at about 1o p.m. near Kossuth and Maple streets, and despite the vehicle sustaining several gunshots, no injuries were reported.

Police were notified of the shooting by ShotSpotter activations, the city's gunshot detection system.

"Bridgeport Police Officers responded to the area and located multiple cartridge cases," wrote Sgt. Luigi Tucciarone in a statement. "A victim was in a vehicle some distance away. Vehicle sustained multiple bullet holes; vehicle occupant was uninjured."

Detectives and patrol officers collected multiple items of evidence from the scene, and according to Tucciarone, the preliminary investigation suggests the victim was targeted.
