Remember The Old Buses??

BUSES WERE A WAY OF LIFE

I'M sure if you grew up here in Bridgeport you remember all the buses that serviced the area. When I was a kid bus service was indeed a way of life for many of us who were not old enough to drive or did not own a car .I remember so vividly THE C.R,L. BUS LINES,THE CHESTNUT HILL BUSES,THE GReyLINE BUSES that traveled over a lot of our streets back in the day. Also THE BARNUM STATE BUS serviced the area.WE indeed depended on our buses for all our travel needs within our zones.Life was pretty simple back then and buses ran all kinds of hours. Most buses took you downtown where shopping was the point of interest. Some buses went to PLEASURE BEACH as well as SEASIDE PARK as well as BEARDSLEY PARK.WE became depended on those buses to get us around town and the community. Those were good times. Also at the bus depot terminal the travel buses serviced our areas.IT was not unusual to see a TRAILWAYS BUS come thru or a GREYHOUND for that matter either.Buses played a real role in peoples'lives back in the day.Now people rely on G.B.T.BUS LINES to get to certain places. The names of the buses have changed but our needs are still there,
