Settlement Likely After 'Live PD' Footage Case

A man sued Bridgeport officers with an excessive force claim. The aftermath of the incident was caught on camera for the "Live PD" show.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — The city has reached a tentative settlement with a man who claimed officers used excessive force while arresting him during a November 2016 incident. The aftermath of the incident was caught on camera for the "Live PD" show.

The city later ended its relationship with "Live PD" after officials said they believed it cast the city in an unfair light, according to the Connecticut Post.

Police responded to a call on Madison Avenue about a possibly armed man. Police said that Ernesto Castro struggled with them and tried to grab the gun of one officer. Castro had a broken vertebra, broken nose and other injuries after the arrest.
