Stolen Handgun Recovered, Suspect Arrested In Bridgeport: Police

The suspect is accused of displaying the weapon as a threat, according to Bridgeport police.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 23-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested by Bridgeport police on Monday evening, after the department received information that the suspect was using a handgun to threaten a victim, according to authorities.

The incident occurred at about 6 p.m. at the PT Barnum Apartments, after the victim contacted police of the threat.

"The officers conducted an immediate and thorough investigation, leading to the recovery of a stolen black Springfield 9mm firearm from Hamden, which was fully loaded with 11 live rounds and ready for discharge," wrote Bridgeport Police Capt. Lonnie Blackwell, M.S., in a statement.

Arrested was Kamali Cennamo, who was charged with the following:

  • Threatening, 1st degree
  • Theft of a firearm
  • Carrying a pistol without a permit
  • Interfering with an officer

Cennamo was held in lieu of bail of $75,000, and was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
