Victim Wounded In Bridgeport Shooting: Police

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Police are investigating a shooting Monday night near Newfield Park in Bridgeport that resulted in a person suffering a gunshot wound to the left heel, according to authorities.

The shooting occurred at about 9:45 p.m., as reported by citizens who called police after hearing gunshots.

Police found shell casings at the scene, and one vehicle that had been struck by gunfire.

A short while later, Bridgeport Hospital notified police that a victim with a gunshot wound, which was not considered a threat to the person's life.

"Bridgeport Police are actively investigating this incident," authorities said. "Please refer to CFS#73344."
