Waterbury Suspect Arrested In 2019 Bridgeport Homicide: Police
The suspect is the second person arrested in the 2019 beating death of Miguel Lopez, according to Bridgeport police.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 44-year-old Waterbury man was arrested on manslaughter and assault charges Thursday in connection with the 2019 beating death of 55-year-old Miguel Lopez in Bridgeport, according to police.
Luis Hernandez was taken into custody at his home by members of the U.S. Marshal Service Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force, and was charged with first-degree manslaughter and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault.
Thursday's arrest is the second in the killing of Lopez; in the fall of 2019, Jose "Ponce" Martinez was arrested on manslaughter charges, reported the Connecticut Post.

Lopez was beaten to death during an altercation in May 2019 on Noble Avenue.
According to Bridgeport police, the warrant for Hernandez was obtained by the lead detective on the case, Martin Heanue.

"This was great work by all that worked on this case, specifically Detective Heanue," said Bridgeport police officials.
Hernandez was held in lieu of bail of $1 million, and is scheduled to appear in court
