The Watermark to Host Art Reception for Resident and Artist Adele Waife

Artwork to be showcased at the continuing care retirement community's gallery

The Watermark at 3030 Park today announced it will host an art reception featuring the paintings of artist and resident Adele Waife. The event will be held on Friday, February 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the retirement community, located at 3030 Park Avenue on the Bridgeport-Fairfield town line.

Waife’s art education began at the High School of Art & Music in New York City. She went on to study at Queens College and received her master’s degree from the College of New Rochelle. After college, she taught art in the Yonkers Public School system for 25 years, and since her retirement, Waife has volunteered at the Museum of Modern Art, Lincoln Center, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Jewish Museum. Her work has been influenced by her experiences as a traveler to Europe and Israel, as well as by the many workshops she attended as a student.

“We are always eager to feature local artists in our gallery and are thrilled to showcase our own residents’ talents,” said The Watermark at 3030 Park’s Executive Director, Kristin Butler. “We truly admire Adele’s continued creativity and her devotion to art throughout her life.”
