3 Hurt In Brookfield Crash, Driver Cited For Distracted Driving: Police
Three people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Whisconier Road, according to police.
BROOKFIELD, CT — Three people were taken to the hospital after a crash on Route 25 in Brookfield Tuesday, police said.
The crash happened around 2:01 p.m. April 4 on Whisconier Road at High Ridge Road, according to the Brookfield Police Department.
Police said a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox was stopped in traffic, waiting to turn left, when a 2017 Toyota Tacoma approached from behind.

The driver of the Toyota told police he was distracted inside the vehicle and not paying attention to the road, authorities said.
Police said the Toyota crossed the double yellow line and struck the Chevrolet as it was turning.

Three occupants of the Chevrolet were taken to Danbury Hospital with apparent non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The driver of the Toyota was issued infractions including operating without a license, failure to drive in the proper lane and distracted driving, according to police.
Whisconier Road was closed for about 30 minutes while crews responded.
