4 Pets Die, Person Hospitalized When Fire Breaks Out At Brookfield Home
Firefighters responded to the call Thursday evening.
BROOKFIELD, CT — Four pets died and a person was hospitalized following a blaze at a Brookfield home, fire officials said.
Emergency responders were called to a Baldwin Hill Road home at 7:15 p.m. They immediately requested assistance from the Bethel Fire Department, Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company and Water Witch Hose Company No. 2
Fire crews quickly knocked down the bulk of the fire, contatining it to the kitchen and preventing further spread to the rest of the home. The fire was under control at 7:41 p.m.

One person was taken to Danbury Hospital for evaluation. Four household pets died in the blaze.
"We extend our sincere condolences to the family for their loss," fire officials said.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation by the fire marshal's office.
Emergency calls continued coming in as firefighters dealt with the blaze. Hawleyville Fire Department, Newtown Hook & Ladder, Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Bethel EMS were requested to provide town coverage
