After 10 Years Of Service, Brookfield Police K-9 Argo Retires

The veteran police dog helped track missing people, locate narcotics and apprehend suspects during his decade with the department.

BROOKFIELD, CT — After a decade of service to the Brookfield Police Department and surrounding communities, K-9 Argo has officially retired.

Police said Argo, known as K9-2, worked alongside Sgt. Jeff Osuch for 10 years. During his career, the police dog helped track missing people, locate suspects, assist with investigations and detect illegal narcotics.

As Argo begins retirement, the department has welcomed K-9 Goku, who is partnered with Officer Travis Kullgren. Police said Goku has completed training and certification in suspect apprehension, tracking, evidence recovery, building and area searches, crowd control and firearm detection.

"Thank you for your unwavering loyalty, dedication, and service," the department said in announcing Argo's retirement.
