American Diabetes Association Honors 2 Brookfielders

Brookfield residents recognized for fundraising efforts.

On January 30, 2012 The American Diabetes Association (ADA) held its Annual Recognition Dinner at the Marriot in Rocky Hill, where two Brookfield residents were honored for their efforts to combat diabetes. 

Beth O'Connor, the school nurse at (CES), was honored as the coordinator of a Diabetes Walk held last spring at CES. This event raised $10,710.50. She received two awards during this ceremony — one of the recognitions was for CES fundraising efforts ranking in the top 20 schools nationwide in the fight to stop diabetes; the other award recognized her efforts as being the top second school in the state raising funds for the ADA.

Kyle Rosa (second grader at ) was also honored as one of top five fundraisers in Connecticut, raising $1,647.50 toward this event.
