• Brookfield Memorial Day Parade Returns This Weekend (patch.com) — Brookfield residents can look forward to the return of the town’s annual Memorial Day Parade this Sunday, May 24, starting at 2 p.m. on Main Street. Hosted by the Brookfield Lions Club and free to attend, the event offers a chance for the community to gather and honor the holiday together.    

• Newtown girls win 4th consecutive SWC track and field title while Bethel boys claim 3rd straight (newstimes.com) — Brookfield’s track and field teams made a strong showing at the SWC championships, with the girls finishing just seven points shy of the title in fourth and the boys placing 11th. Several Brookfield athletes earned top-three finishes, including wins in the boys’ 800 and standout relay and sprint performances that signal a deep, competitive program.

The honor, based on statewide accountability results, highlights strong instruction, support for high‑needs students, and a culture of high expectations across its multi-town student body.
