BROOKFIELD, CT — A longtime Brookfield graduation tradition is set to return this month.
The Brookfield High School Grad Party will celebrate its 40th anniversary following graduation on June 20.
Organizers describe the overnight event as a community gift to graduating seniors. Each year, volunteers transform the school around a secret theme, creating a space filled with games, food, prizes and activities.
"The theme is always a secret and the students are shocked and amazed as they are welcomed into the transformed school," organizers said on the event website.
The supervised celebration continues through the night until 5 a.m. and is designed to provide graduates with a safe place to celebrate after commencement.
