Garage Fire Sparks Emergency Response In Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, CT — Firefighters quickly contained a garage fire on Ironworks Hill Road Monday afternoon, preventing the flames from spreading to a nearby home, according to the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company.

Brookfield emergency crews were dispatched around 1:48 p.m. for a reported structure fire. The first arriving unit found a detached garage engulfed in flames, prompting a second alarm because of the nearby house and a vehicle parked in the driveway, fire officials said.

Firefighters worked to protect the home while attacking the fire in the garage, successfully containing the blaze before it could spread. No civilians or firefighters were injured, and no residents were displaced, according to the fire company.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Brookfield Fire Marshal's Office.
