BROOKFIELD, CT — The owners of a longtime Litchfield restaurant have closed that location but will continue operating their quick-service concept, Salt 2.0, in Brookfield.
Brook Noel and her husband, Andy Stowers, announced in an Aug. 30 Facebook post that Sage & Salt had closed after their lease came to an end. The couple thanked customers for 13 years of support and said they were stepping back from the full-service restaurant business.
"Thank you Litchfield for 13 great years!" they wrote.
The restaurant, formerly known as Saltwater Grille, opened in 2007. The couple took over the business in 2013 and rebranded it as Sage & Salt in January 2025, introducing a new menu and renovated dining spaces. The restaurant served modern American fare, including seafood dishes carried over from Saltwater Grille.
The owners said they will instead focus on Salt 2.0, their quick-service restaurant in Brookfield.
The concept originated during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the couple developed a takeout menu at Saltwater Grille. They later expanded Salt 2.0 to Brookfield, opening the Federal Road location in 2022.
Salt 2.0 serves made-to-order grain bowls, burritos, tacos, wraps and salads, with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options.
The Brookfield restaurant is located at 802 Federal Road in Brookfield Village and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to its website. Customers can view the menu and order online at sageandsaltct.com.
"If you are ever in the area we hope you will stop by," the owners wrote in their announcement.
