BROOKFIELD, CT — Candlewood Lake sets the price at the top of Brookfield's housing market. Two of the five most expensive homes for sale in town on Zillow.com sit right on the water, and the priciest is a new lakefront house that the listing says would work for an owner or as an Airbnb.
No. 1 on the list is 20 North Lake Shore Drive, a lakefront house built in 2024 and asking $2,199,900. Zillow lists it at 3,120 square feet, while the description says more than 3,284. It has three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and one half bathroom, plus a large flex room that could serve as a fourth bedroom or office. The primary suite opens onto a deck with lake views and has a freestanding soaking tub. It has been on Zillow for 22 days.
Just behind it is a new modern farmhouse at 25 Hunting Ridge Road, listed at $1,774,900. The 5,500-square-foot house sits on 1.06 acres with sweeping views and has five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and one half bathroom. It has white oak floors, a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, walls of glass, a main-level primary suite and a hidden, speakeasy-style dining room. It has been on Zillow for 177 days.
Rounding out the top three is a two-house waterfront property at 277 and 279 Candlewood Lake Road, asking $1,750,000. It has more than 200 feet of shoreline on Candlewood Lake and a private dock. The 1947 main house has 2,769 square feet, three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one half bathroom, two stone fireplaces, a cathedral-ceiling living room with western lake views and a three-season conservatory. The sale also includes an 858-square-foot lakefront cottage with a three-car garage, a kitchen and a full bath. It has been on Zillow for 68 days.
No. 4 is 49 Old Bridge Road, a Colonial farmhouse dating to about 1784, listed at $1,295,000 after a $100,000 price cut on Sept. 4. The 4,300-square-foot house sits on 2.31 acres of perennial gardens and has four bedrooms. Zillow lists three full bathrooms and one half bathroom, while the description says four and a half. It has a three-bay barn garage, a covered mahogany porch and a stone terrace. It has been on Zillow for 136 days.
Closing out the top five is 109 Long Meadow Hill Road, an original 1900 house with a 2004 expansion, at $1,275,000 after a $120,000 price cut on Oct. 6. The 5,124-square-foot home has five bedrooms, four full bathrooms and three half bathrooms on 2.28 acres. It has a possible in-law suite with its own entrance, three rooms above the barn and seven garage bays. It has been on Zillow for 48 days.
Prices, listing status and days on market are from each property's Zillow.com listing as of Oct. 26, 2026, and may change. Only homes marked "For sale" or offered as new construction were included; pending, coming-soon, land-only and multifamily listings were left out.
