Aquarion Acquires 5th Water System in Brookfield
The manager of the majority of Brookfield's water adds Indian Fields Water System to its holdings.
Aquarion Water Company announced Tuesday the purchase of Indian Fields Homeowners Association’s water system, which is located one mile from the center of Brookfield and currently serves approximately 160 Brookfield residents.
“We are pleased to continue our expansion in the town of Brookfield, and we look forward to providing these new customers with the same safe and reliable water service,” said Charles V. Firlotte, Aquarion President and CEO. “This continues our goal of reducing the number of small water systems throughout the state.”
“We are pleased to see Aquarion continuing to acquire small water companies and consolidating them into Aquarion’s system,” First Selectman Bill Davidson said. “Aquarion has the financial strength and excellent customer service that will benefit its customers in Brookfield.”

In 2011 and 2012, Aquarion purchased and integrated 56 Connecticut water systems into its portfolio, including three of Brookfield’s largest systems: Brookfield Water Company, Rural Water Company and United Water Company.
