Audrey J. Standt entered eternal rest on October 12, 2015 at her Brookfield home with her family by her side. She was born in Queens, NY on March 1, 1933 to the late Herbert and Rose Ermentraut. She attended New York City Public Schools and Jamaica High School. Upon falling in love with her late husband of 59 years, Fred, she moved to Brookfield in 1950 and lived for the rest of her life in the home where they raised their family.
Audrey owned and operated Berkshire Spirit Shop in Danbury for 18 years before retiring in 1989. A longtime member of Saint Joseph Church, she participated in the Confraternity of the Rosary and, in recent years, Adoration at Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys. Her passion was spending time with her grandchildren at the beach, during their sporting events, and every outdoor activity imaginable. She always taught them that “if it’s nice outside, you should be outside.”
