Beer Pong Buzz: Can Hex Cup Dethrone CT Brothers' Invention?
Five Brookfield brothers took the beer pong world by storm last July but now there's a new kid on the beer pong block-- The Hex Cup.

BROOKFIELD, CT-- What’s the latest buzz in the beer pong game? Last summer it was a revolutionary new product five Brookfield brothers invented that took the beer pong world by storm. Now it has a challenger-- The Hex Cup.
Chase Treibt is one of five Brookfield brothers and the brainchild behind the The ”Slip Cup.” The invention provides a way to play cleaner beer pong by shielding the player’s drink with an insert so the ball never comes into contact with your drink. The brothers created a Kickstarter campaign to fund the manufacturing of the product.
In comparison, the Hex Cup was created by two engineers from Kansas City who say they have devised an idea for a better beer pong cup. “We’ve found a way for the cups to fit together perfectly with no gaps. Hexagonal cups are used so that they fit together just like a honeycomb. As expected, the cups slip together into the form of a triangle with a lot less effort than the traditional round variety,” creators William Heimsoth and Aaron Attebery said in a release.
In addition to the new shape on top, the designers added a feature on the bottom of each hexagonal cup that breaks the surface tension of water on the table. This means the cups stay in place instead of floating or ghosting around like other cups.
The Hex Cup is made from a different material than the standard Solo cup which makes them safe in the top rack of the dishwasher.
Whether you choose to play beer pong with the Slip Cup or the Hex Cup, one thing is apparent, people take their beer pong game seriously.
