Board of Selectmen Request Joint Resolution With CT DOT for Town Roads Safety Improvements
The Board of Selectmen will hold a special meeting on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015 at 4:15 p.m. at Brookfield Town Hall.
After a comprehensive study was done on lower Route 202, the Board of Selectmen is requesting that the Connecticut Department of Transportation give “special priority for the planning, engineering, funding and construction to” the following special safety projects:
- Safety Improvement Project 1: Shop Rite driveway to Beverly Drive
- Safety Improvement Project 2: Route 202 and Old New Milford Road intersection
The study was completed by Milone and MacBroom, Inc.
The request states that improvements are needed for better motorist, cyclist and pedestrian safety along the corridor. They also said it will “promote economic welfare.”

The Board of Selectmen will hold a special meeting on Friday, Sept. 25 at 4:15 p.m. at Town Hall, 100 Pocono Road, authorizing the first selectmen to sign the resolution of their recommended motion for the CT DOT.
