From Brazil To Brookfield: New Dental Practice Opens

BROOKFIELD, CT — A new dental practice has opened in Brookfield, according to town economic development officials.

Bello Smile Cosmetic and General Dentistry, owned by Dr. Larissa Lopes, recently celebrated a ribbon cutting, according to the town’s Economic Development Office.

The practice is located at 246 Federal Road.

Town officials, members of the Brookfield Economic Development Commission and representatives from Ives Bank attended the event.

“It is such a pleasure to meet Dr. Lopes, her business partners and family,” Brookfield Economic Development Director Greg Dembowski said in a statement. “Her story is an inspiration to anyone with a passion to pursue their dreams.”

Lopes grew up in Belém, Brazil, where she spent much of her childhood in her mother’s dental clinic before earning her dental degree in 2007.

"My mother didn't just treat teeth; she transformed how her patients felt walking out the door. That is the standard I have always held for myself," Dr. Lopes said.

She later moved to the United States, became a U.S. citizen in 2018 and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Boston University in 2025, officials said.

The practice offers cosmetic and general dentistry services, according to the town.
