Brookfield Business Hosts Fundraiser for Childhood Cancer

CULTEC, Inc. is hosting the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer which will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26 in Stamford.

Thousands of people nationwide will participate in the inaugural St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September. The local sponsor of the Connecticut walk will be CULTEC, Inc. of Brookfield.

The event will be held in Stamford on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Harbor Point, 100 Washington Boulevard, according to The Hour. So far the Southern Connecticut Walk/Run has raised close to $25,000 in donations and scholarships. This year’s fundraising goal is $90,000.

CULTEC is hosting A Night with Phil Quinn- Medium & Life Guide on September 18 at the Hampton Inn in Danburyto help the team reach their goal. Phil Quinn is a medium with the ability to see and hear those who have passed away.

St. Jude is the only National Cancer Center dedicated exclusively to children. Treatments developed at St. Jude have pushed the childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since the hospital opened over 50 years ago.
