Briefly, what business are you in?
I am in the family entertainment business for parties and events.
What’s the most difficult moment or challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?
The downturn of the economy and learning how to market my business online.
Were there any challenges that made you second guess your decision to be an entrepreneur?
I was a divorced single mom starting a business and bought a home with all my own money. It was scary to depend on bookings to pay a mortgage and raise my children.
What’s been your favorite moment or proudest achievement since opening?
I love seeing the expressions of the children when they see their face painted or watching them dance and have fun. On several occasions I have had children tell me that “this is the best party ever.”
What’s the most innovative idea your employees or customers have had that you put into practice?
I offer DJ dance parties with face paint and karaoke and this is a package that was requested and they love.
How do you deal with difficult customers?
I fortunately have wonderful customers and I am very good with a variety of people.
How does your business give back or get involved in the community?
I have done several programs for my daughter’s school as well as an event for Sandy Hook.
