Brookfield Chamber Of Commerce To Sponsor Debate Between Candidates For First Selectman

BROOKFIELD -- The Brookfield Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a debate among the three candidates for Brookfield first selectman on Tuesday, October 12, at 7 p.m. in room 133 of the town hall on Pocono Road.

Republican nominee Tara Carr, petitioning candidate Austin Monteiro and Democratic incumbent Steve Dunn will make statements and answer questions on a variety of issues related to the municipal government.

Brookfield Patch reporter Scott Benjamin, an online Political Science instructor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, will moderate the forum, which will be live-streamed at https://youtu.be/mrz8s4GmjUQ . It will be posted later at www.youtube.com. The telecast will be produced by Daniel Secore of the Brookfield municipal information technology staff.

The event is open to the public, who will be required to wear face masks. The doors to the town hall will be open starting that night at 6:30.

In the event of a large audience, two viewing rooms will be available at the town hall if room 133 reaches capacity.

Refreshments will be available.
