Brookfield Cops: Suspect Flees in Car, Runs Out of Gas

The Danbury man was finally apprehended in New Milford.

BROOKFIELD, CT - A Danbury man who fled from Brookfield police Sunday night after refusing to pull over, ran out of gas in New Milford and was caught, according to authorities.

Darryl Mourning, 25, was charged with a host of violations, including reckless driving, disobeying an officer’s signal, and driving without a license, reports the Danbury News-Times.

He was initially spotted driving erratically on Candlewood Lake Road, and his car appeared to be damaged. Police tried to pull him over but he fled. They did not pursue him, but he was found a short while later in New Milford having run out of gas.

Mourning was released on a promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on June 10.
