Brookfield Doctors Fined For Allowing Unlicensed Assistants To Take X-Rays

The two Brookfield pulmonologists said they were not aware what they were doing was wrong until state officials contacted them.

The state Medical Examining Board has fined two doctors who practice together in Brookfield for allowing unlicensed medical assistants to take X-rays, according to Connecticut Health Team.

The two pulmonologists, Dr. Larry S. Wasser and Dr. Ganesh Natarajan, were fined $2,000 each for allowing the unlicensed medical assistants to take X-rays for a five-year period, from 2010 to 2015, according to the report.

Wasser’s former employee complained about the practice to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

According to the report, the doctors claimed they were unaware they were violating the state Medical Board’s codes.
