Brookfield Firefighters Battle Multiple Blazes
One incident involved containing a spill from an electrical transformer.
BROOKFIELD, CT — A road was closed and a motorist hospitalized following multiple crashes on Saturday.
The first crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. in the area of 119 Long Meadow Hill Road. The Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company found a pole and wires down following a motor vehicle crash.
The road was closed for the majority of the day as crews worked to fix the damage, which included containing a spill from the electrical transformer. The motorist declined medical treatment.

Later, around 4:40 p.m., both Brookfield companies were dispatched to Iron Works Hill Road for a two car head-on motor vehicle accident. One motorist was transported to the hospital for evaluation., according to the BVFC.
