Brookfield Firefighters Extinguish Burning Car (PHOTOS)
The blaze was consuming a vehicle on Candlewood Lake Road.
BROOKFIELD, CT -- Firefighters responded to a report of a car on fire early Thursday evening. No injuries were reported.
The Candlewood Company of the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department received a call about 6:50 p.m. on Thursday, June 21 about a vehicle ablaze at 14 Candlewood Lake Road.
When firefighters arrived, they were met by an off-duty Greenwich Fire Lieutenant who had ensured that the vehicle's occupants were all accounted for and a safe distance away.

The first arriving units reported an SUV with a fully involved engine compartment fire. While firefighters donned self-contained breathing apparatus, they were assisted by a Brookfield police officer who helped put the line in service.
The firefighters extinguished the blaze, and all units had left the scene by 7:30 p.m.
