Brookfield Firefighters Tackle 2-Alarm House Fire
First responders found flames showing across all floors, up through the attic.
BROOKFIELD, CT — Firefighters tackled a two-alarm blaze on Sunday.
The Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company dispatched crews at 1:22 p.m. following a report of smoke coming from a residence at 4 Hollow Drive.
First responders found flames showing across all floors, up through the attic. Chief Ellis then transmitted the second alarm, which brought mutual aid from Danbury Fire Department, Water Witch Hose Co. #2 of New Milford, Newtown Hook & Ladder, Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company #1, Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company, Danbury Volunteer Fire Battalion 19, and Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department.

Extensive overhaul of the home was necessary before firefighters were confident the blaze was completely extinguished.
Brookfield EMS crews medically evaluated all firefighters, and transported one to Danbury Hospital for exhaustion and further evaluation.

All units wrapped up at 4 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brookfield Fire Marshal’s office.
"We would like to acknowledge the outstanding job done by our Emergency Services Dispatchers and the scene support by the officers of the Brookfield Police Department who are always in the mix when we need a hand," the firefighters posted on social media.
