Brookfield Firefighters Tackle Basement Blaze
The Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company were called to put out a fire on Arrowhead Road Sunday.
BROOKFIELD, CT — A house fire Sunday evening is under investigation by the Brookfield Fire Marshal's Office.
An automatic fire alarm triggered a response by firefighters from the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company at 5:36 p.m. to an address on Arrowhead Road. That call was immediately followed by one from people inside the home reporting a basement fire.
First responders reported smoke showing from the eaves. Firefighters were able to stretch a hose into the basement to quickly extinguish the fire, which began in a clothes dryer.

Firefighters reported heavy smoke throughout the home, requiring ventilation.
BVFC were assisted at the scene by the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company. The Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company provided station coverage while BVFC personnel were putting out the fire.
