BROOKFIELD, CT — First responders in Brookfield have announced a fundraising event to help longtime police officer Gregory Waldmiller with medical costs and expenses related to his bladder cancer and leukemia treatment.
According to the GoFundMe page established by his daughter Michaela, Waldmiller, 68, has been with the Brookfield Police Department for 45 years. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer in October 2020, and unrelated acute myeloid leukemia earlier this year.
Michaela described her father as "the type of guy who goes out every snowstorm and helps snowblow all the driveways in the neighborhood."
