Brookfield High School Among CT's Top 50

A new report ranks all of the public schools in Connecticut and we let you know how yours fared.

Niche.com, a rankings and review site, has compiled its list of “2016 Best Public High Schools in Connecticut.”

These rankings are based on state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, student and parent reviews, and more.

Niche.com compiled a nationwide list of all high schools and Connecticut failed to crack the top 50.

According to Niche.com, the top 5 public high schools are: No. 1. Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan, N.Y., No. 2 High Technology High School in Lincroft, N.J., No. 3. Staten Island Technical High School in Staten Island, N.Y., No. 4. Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Virginia, and No. 5 Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Illinois.

The first Connecticut school to crack the list is Staples High School in Westport at No. 62 overall and No. 1 in the state.

After Staples, is No. 2. New Canaan High School, No. 3. Wilton High School, No. 4. Simsbury High School, and No. 5. Weston High School.

Brookfield High School ranked No. 30 among Connecticut’s top public high schools.

Niche.com had this to say about Brookfield High School:

“Brookfield High School is a public school in Brookfield, Connecticut. It has 901 students in grades 9-12. According to state standards, 94% of students at this school are considered proficient in math and/or reading. There have been 252 reviews written and they have been mostly positive.”
