Brookfield High School Swimmers Finally Capture Elusive Class M Championship

The Bobcats snared their first-ever team title at the class meet at Wesleyan University.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — After posting three runnerup finishes since 2012, the Brookfield High School girls swimming team finally broke through Tuesday, capturing the Class M state championship at the Wesleyan University pool.

The Bobcats compiled 688.5 points to outdistance runnerup Lauralton Hall, which had 646.5.

Brookfield's depty carried it to the title, as just one Bobcat won an individual event. Anna Weinstein finished first in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:10.65.

Brookfield had finished second to Lauralton Hall in 2015, to Pomperaug in 2013 and to Branford in 2012.
