Brookfield Library Hosts Intellectual Property Workshop
The program is geared for small businesses.

BETHEL, CT --- The Brookfield library will be hosting a workshop on understanding the ins and outs of intellectual property laws, geared towards small businesses in the “knowledge industry.”
Participants in the prgram will be introduced to the “real world” of intellectual property and learn how to manage intangible assets, including:
- The difference between trademarks and copyrights.
- How to protect your “trade secrets” from theft or misappropriation.
- The “word made for hire” doctrine” — when it applies, when it doesn’t.
- How to put a value on your intangible assets.

The program is part of a SCORE Business Workshop series, sponsored by the Western Connecticut chapter of SCORE, a national nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship and the Brookfield library.
