BROOKFIELD, CT — The library is hosting a program on the health effects of cell phones and wireless devices, on Thursday, April 25, from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Brookfield resident Joan Polzin will summarize some of the research on the technology, dating back to 1971. The multimedia presentation, called "Cell Phones, Wireless Technology, 5G, and Your Right to Know," will include video of expert testimonies, as well as a discussion of steps people may take to create a safe environment.

"The new and more powerful 5G network is already being installed in several locations in Brookfield, near schools and local businesses. The cells will transmit higher frequency radio signals that have not been studied for safety," the library notes on its website.
