Brookfield Lions Announce Melvin Jones Fellowship Receipient

Melvin Jones award recognizes Humanitarian work.

At its annual awards ceremony held June 14, 2018, Lion Candy Smith, President, announced that Lion Lyn Lyon was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow.The Melvin Jones Fellowship is the highest award of the Lions Club International Foundation and it is presented in recognition of humanitarian work. Presenting the award pictured above (L-R): Past President Lion Candy Smith; Lion Lyn Lyon; President Lion Cathy Nielsen.

The Lions Club is the largest service organization in the world with over 1.4 Million members in 45,000 local clubs. The Brookfield Lions support a number of local, regional and international causes including Pediatric Eye Screening, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation, Eyeglasses for the Needy, Red Cross Blood Drives, Ability Beyond and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
