Brookfield Lions Charity Breakfast

The Brookfield Lions was pleased to host Dr. Sandler founder of the Blue Path Service Dogs for Autism at its annual Charity Breakfast.

Dr.Sandler (pictured above) , who was the former Chief Operating Officer and Director of Veterinary Services for a Service Dog School, is a graduate of Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine with his DVM in 1988. He was awarded the Bustad Companion Animal Veterinarian of the Year in 2016 by the American Veterinary Medical Association. His veterinary department was awarded the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine’s Booker Willoughby Service Award in 2013.

Dr. Sandler's wife Caroline founded the successful Healing Autism program that placed over 90 service dogs with families since 2008. Both left their previous positions to continue the same mission by establishing BluePath Service Dogs, which trains and provides autism service dogs, offering safety, companionship and opportunities for independence thereby transforming the lives of individuals, families and communities.

The Lions Club is the largest Service Organization in the World with over 1.4 million members in 45,000 Local clubs located in over 200 countries and territories. The Brookfield Lions support a number of local, regional and international causes including Pediatric/Adult Vision Screening, Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation, Eyeglasses for the Needy, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Red Cross Blood Drives, Ability Beyond and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The Brookfield Lions meet on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month.
