President Candy Smith reported that the Brookfield Lions were very active in the community during 2017-2018 with activities such as: Pediatric Vision Screened 6,043 children with 920 being referred to eye specialists; conducted two successful food drives for Brookfield Social Services; conducted Strides to Cure Diabetes Road Races as well as building a Children's Garden for the Barton Summer Camp for children suffering from Diabetes; provided, with the assistance of the Leo's Club, over 200 toy Teddy Bears to children undergoing Cancer treatment at Yale New Haven, Hartford Hospital and to the Healing Hearts Bereavement Center in Danbury.
